About this site

Discover Taoism (道文化) is an educational website on Taoist culture for readers around the world. We aim to introduce Taoism's history, scriptures, temples, figures, health traditions, arts, and customs in a way that is accessible and trustworthy, so that more people can appreciate the philosophy, wisdom of life, and aesthetics of Taoism as a core part of Chinese culture.

Our principles

• Grounded in sources. Content is based on historical records and scholarship, with sources cited wherever possible. We do not promote superstition.
• Easy to understand. We explain specialist topics in plain language and through stories.
• Respectful of tradition. We respect the different schools and regional lineages, and avoid reducing Taoism to a single mountain or image.
